Meet the Curator for Designer Show House: Ann Benson Reidy

abrAnn Benson Reidy has been passionately involved in the Denver art community for nearly twenty years. She curated the Le Jeune Salon (2001-2006), a benefit art auction emphasizing the work of new and emerging artists, as well as the Denver Design Show House (2011 and 2013). Ann was a founding member of the Denver Art Museum’s Culture Haus, a group started to provide its members with a wide range of opportunities to deepen their knowledge about art and collecting. She has chaired the major art museum fundraising events DAM Uncorked and Collector’s Choice. Ann is on the committee for the Coors Western Art Exhibit and Sale.

We asked Ann what it is about this event that keeps her coming back to participate year after year.

Children’s Hospital Colorado Designer Show House is an opportunity for the interior design and art community to come together to support one of the true philanthropic gems of Colorado. I love working with multiple designers and understanding their vision for their rooms, but Children’s means more to me; they saved our daughter’s life. Diana had Leukemia at age 2 and is a survivor now at age 10. I do this for my passion for art but most importantly for the opportunity to pass on gratitude to Children’s Hospital Colorado and to support the health of all children in the Rocky Mountain region.

Ann currently sits on several boards, including the Denver Art Museum Associates Group, the UCD Depression Center, and the Art Advisory Board for the Children’s Hospital Colorado. Ann formerly served on the board of DAM’s Friends of Painting and Sculpture and the Art Student’s League,

In addition to her cultural pursuits, Ann devotes time to numerous organizations such as Children’s Hospital Colorado Foundation and the Denver Public Library. She also spends many hours volunteering at the schools attended by her four children. Check out her website here:
