Is Navy the New Neutral?

11385607_441957332653243_1738935545_nAccording to Miranda Cullen of Duet Design Group, http://duetdesigngroup.com/, one of the designers of this year’s Designer Show House, the answer is, yes!

At this year’s Designer Show House, we have put a spin on the traditional show house format by transforming a duplex with one side designated the “color” side and one side designed primarily in a “neutral” palette. One of the colors in the color palette is Naval; a warm and rich navy color from Sherwin Williams, From the look of the design boards and the labels on the walls prior to painting, this color will feature prominently as a base color for many of the rooms and will be featured in a good amount of the artwork.

We are big fans of green, navy and chartreuse, said a representative from Knape & Zibell. They are doing the master suite on the color side. You can see some of their work at http://www.knapeandzibell.com/

We also talked to Megan Kane of Megan Kane Interiors, http://megankaneinteriors.com/ . Her team is taking on the basement on the color side.

I am in love right now with blue, purple and gray tones.
