A Toast to Denver Designer Show House!!
We gathered Monday, August 31st with the designers, committee members, people from Children’s Hospital and the owner of the duplex being transformed, Marc Cooper, to toast everyone and their efforts on this year’s Designer Show House. Ann Hanson, Philanthropy Director of Annual giving, shared a story of a recent conversation she had with a perspective donor that truly showed how Children’s Hospital can not only save but change lives.
She shared that the donor had offered to give a percentage of all sales from a hand made product he had designed and was producing to the hospital and wanted to make arrangements for this to be ongoing. After thanking him, she asked what had led him to select Children’s Hospital as the beneficiary. He explained that, years ago, he has harmed his child and had it not been for the hospital, the boy would not be alive today. He spent several years imprisoned for what he had done and, now that he was out and had turned his life around including having rebuilt a relationship with his children, he wanted to give back to the hospital that saved the life of his child.
It is amazing stories like this, that compel us to do all that we can to continue to support this amazing organization. Please join us in our support! You can purchase tickets to the Opening Night Party on September 24th and for the tour on our “Ticket” link.
